The Partisan of Pine Ridge

A little action scene With her brother around, it seemed unlikely to Jodi that she would ever have to worry about taking up arms. As refugees, Levi could provide for the both of them while staying clear of occupying forces, and this was a good enough life for the time being. It was unthinkable that he could be captured and taken to an internment camp, yet Jodi found herself alone, gripped with the guilt that her brother might have sacrificed himself for her sake. Even if it really wasn't her fault, the young vixen made it her ardent mission to see Levi set free. There was no advantage in fighting an infantry droid head-on, so Jodi put all her effort into attacking the weak spots up close, where no one should have been so audacious to strike.

This one took a while... And unfortunately the paper I chose for this work was too lightweight, which translated into difficulties with marker work The paper is still mostly flat and not saturated to the point of distortion as was the case with "Solitaire"! I tried a few different coloring techniques here, including (what I hoped would be) more bold secondary lighting, perhaps most noticeably in the electric glow. This is something I hope to learn much more about in future drawings. I also had the opportunity to design some sort of robotic soldier (actually, quite a new experience!) and the camouflage on his Kevlar-covered armor plating.
